How to Run a Live Trivia Quiz with QuizWithStreamAlive
This guide explains how to duplicate a quiz template, connect your live session, and host an interactive group quiz with real-time chat responses. The walkthrough video is included below.
What is QuizWithStreamAlive
This is not a solo quiz. It is designed for group participation during a live session such as virtual meetings, webinars, live streams, or offline events with a host. Participants respond directly in the platform chat by typing options like A, B, C or 1, 2, 3. Their answers appear on screen in real time.

Get started in a few minutes
Step 1 — Duplicate the quiz template
- Click Duplicate Template on the quiz page.
- Sign up for a free StreamAlive account.
- The quiz opens inside your Presentation Editor.
From here, you can customize colors, questions and text, layout and visuals, and branding for your event or company.
Connect StreamAlive to your live session
- Click Get Ready to Present in the top-right corner.
- Select your platform.
- Zoom
- YouTube Live
- LinkedIn Live
- Twitch
- Google Meet
- Microsoft Teams
- Restream
The video above shows an example using Zoom: choose Zoom, paste your Zoom meeting link, and StreamAlive will connect and start reading the chat.
Go live and host the quiz
- Share your StreamAlive screen so participants can see the quiz.
- Display a question slide.
- Ask participants to type their responses in the chat.
- Watch answers appear on screen in real time.
No separate devices, apps, or logins are required for the audience.
Tips for a smooth session
- Ask attendees to set chat visibility to Everyone (or the equivalent on your platform).
- Keep questions concise and clear.
- Use a short warm-up poll or icebreaker to get everyone typing.
- Acknowledge fast responders and call out group milestones.
